It could be argued that one of the most fundamental innovations in buildings since the invention of the arch was the creation of cavity wall construction particularly in relation to the twentieth century. The cavity is meant to overcome damp ingress, improve thermal values and avoid excess labour and material consumption. However, it was realized that each leaf would require consolidation and this was subsequently provided by the inclusion of wall ties.
The first type of ties were mainly of galvanized twisted wire or metal but, eventually, even though the quality of these devices was improved, general deterioration by corrosion was inevitable. In severe cases of corrosion etc. the overall stability of the walls became suspect and therefore the ever growing recognition that wall tie replacement is required is increasing. As a company we continually investigate the various systems of wall tie replacement and subsequently offer, what we believe to be, the best systems available.
